When it comes to boudoir photography, many women have limiting beliefs that prevent them from embracing the idea and experiencing the transformative power it can provide.
Every woman has insecurities - yes, even the women you might consider “perfect.”
I’ve had clients of all sizes confide in me things they don’t love about themselves. And ya know what? It’s normal to have these feelings.
So I’m sharing some of the top limiting beliefs about boudoir photography, and how you can push past them to have the experience of a lifetime!

ONE: “I don’t have a “boudoir body,” or “I want to lose weight first.”
This is probably the most common thing I hear from women. But here’s the thing - EVERYONE has a boudoir body!
In fact, I’ve never met a single woman who thought she was the perfect weight/size when she came in for boudoir photos. It's really a time to love the skin your in, appreciate your body for what it does for you, and feel sexy as hell!
We don’t just embrace all bodies - we CELEBRATE THEM!
You deserve the opportunity to see the beauty I see through my camera lens!
I’ll highlight your best “ass-ets,” while also catering to your specific wants/desires in your shoot.
Love your butt, but feel self-conscious about your breasts? No problem. I’ll pose you to put an emphasis on your ass and shoot from camera angles that are always flattering!
TWO: “I have past sexual trauma, so I don’t think I’d be comfortable in a boudoir photoshoot.”
This is a huge limiting belief!
You CAN and SHOULD do a boudoir photoshoot not only because of your past trauma but despite it.
Many trauma survivors feel empowered with boudoir photos to claim what was rightfully theirs to begin with. And I’m one of those women!
My sexual trauma was one of the things that led me to pursue boudoir photography for women. I know how transformative it was for me in my healing journey, and I see the transformation in my clients every single month!
THREE: "I’m afraid I’ll be judged by others.”
Boudoir photography is a personal (and private decision). So you don’t need to worry about what other people think - because they won’t even know unless YOU decide to tell them.
We only share images on my website and socials with clients permission. So if you’re worried about us spilling the beans…we won’t!
Don’t let the fear of being judged stop you from having the experience you want. Do it for you!

FOUR: “I’ll be too nervous.”
First of all, feeling nervous is completely normal. Even my repeat clients who’ve been through the process before have some nerves to push through as we get started.
But RELAX!! We’ve got you covered!
You’ll be pampered from the moment you walk in the studio. We get you a plush robe to lounge in while having professional hair and makeup done. And while that’s happening, I’m hand-picking items from our client closet to fit your preferences.
You don’t have to worry about a thing. Just show up, relax, and let me and my all-female crew hype you up and show you just how gorgeous you are!
FIVE: "I don't know how to pose or be sexy."
I’m calling bullshit on this one.
It’s my job as your boudoir photographer to guide and pose you throughout your photoshoot. So don’t worry about posing. If you can follow directions - you’re golden!
To reassure you, we always have a pre-shoot consultation and questionnaire to understand your preferences, comfort level, and any concerns you may have.
And my right hand woman, Morgan, isn’t just my studio assistant - she’s your personal hype-woman! She’ll do touch up’s to your hair and makeup, help you with posing, and make sure you’re having an amazing time!
SIX: "I'm too old for boudoir photography."
Remember when I said we love to work with women from all walks of life - that includes age.
I hate that “age-ism” is even a thing for women. Thankfully, we’re turning a corner, because age should never be a barrier to self-expression.

SEVEN: “I can’t afford to do a boudoir session right now.”
Any type of professional photography is an investment. And boudoir photography might feel like a “splurge” - but it’s more like an investment in yourself!
As mothers, wives, and caregivers, we often put others before ourselves. Having a boudoir photoshoot can give you the confidence you need to see yourself differently.

EIGHT: “Your studio is too far away.”
One thing I hear from potential clients is that my studio is too far away. But we also have clients travel to us from all over the world! (What a privilege and honor that is!)
